Our project, PolinizAmigos, had our first youth Eco-Club meeting with more than 50 students for day one! Our first lesson was a great success. We did an activity on how to read maps, drew a map together of our town, Alamos, and each child made their own map of their daily activities. This is important to teach about how to read landscapes and thus how to orient ourselves in relation to nature. Knowing how to read the natural landscape helps us understand where biodiversity exists in nature and where ecological formations are which creates awareness of nature’s importance setting the foundation for conservation. In addition, some youth included where to find treasure and how to avoid pirates. We will continue our biweekly eco-club PolinizAmigos with lessons on biodiversity, climate change, and the importance of pollinators. On February 11, we will have our first nature walk in Parque la Colorada and show the children how to observe their natural surroundings by hand and then using technology Check out the pictures! #PolinizAmigos #AlumniTIES
